When we throw out the physical clutter, we clear our minds. When we throw out the mental clutter, we clear our souls. – Gail Blanke
The ultimate goal of Feng Shui is to ensure the smooth and gentle flow of energy throughout your home. Fill your home with the positive energies of Feng Shui by following a few basic tips.
1. Declutter because it blocks the flow of energy. 2. Keep entryways clean and clear to allow good energy to flow into the home. 3. Store brooms and mops upside down in a closed space to block negative energy they may pick up from the cleaning process. 4. Decorate with round paper paperweights to promote strength and growth, the round shape represents earth’s stability. 5. Add plants to your décor to increase good energy. Bamboo, jade and lilies in particular exude good energy. 6. Use decorative screens to slow and redirect energy or to contain energy in a particular space. 7. Store televisions, stereos and other electronics in closed cabinets to avoid the negative energy produced by electromagnetic fields.
While these very basic steps will get you started on promoting positive energy in your home, there is much more involved in finding your personal Feng Shui. Learn how to incorporate the five power principles of Feng Shui:
Chi (energy) The five elements (fire, earth, water, wood & metal) The Bagua (mapping the nine basic areas of life) Yin and Yang Continuity and Connectedness
